SpainThe 2M Group of Companies recently attended two careers fairs in Leeds and Liverpool.
Both events were a great success and generated a myriad of networking opportunities and great conversations regarding the 2M Group of Companies and the career opportunities across our group!
Where did the careers fairs take place?
At the Liverpool University campus and Aspire, an events venue, based in Leeds.
Why were 2M Attending?
As part of our ongoing commitment to STEM education and promoting careers in the chemical industry, 2M attended this event to raise interest in our year in placement opportunities. These opportunities often act as a gateway for individuals to begin their career in the chemical industry.
What kinds of conversations were had?
We spoke about the 2M Group of Companies and the impact on the everyday products that we see on the shelves, as well as the companies across the 2M Group and our specialisms, ensuring to outline all of our international subsidiaries and what opportunities exist within our group.
The events were predominantly based around science and engineering students considering a year in industry, including 2nd year students and those studying masters. The students came back to university early to attend the event and see the opportunities that were presented by 2M and other companies.
Any success stories or new partnerships?
The 2M Group of Companies has seen successful year in industry placements across the country, with many returning to work with us full time after their course has completed.
We have already seen promising applications to several of our open vacancies across the UK. These applications stemmed from the conversations we shared at the Careers Fair.
Who was the target audience for this event?
There were a range of attendees at the events. The majority of people were a mix of students, graduates, and young professionals starting their careers. However there were also some already established professionals who were either looking for a career change or new opportunities within their current careers. It was great to be able to interact with such a variety of people and make these connections.
