Since 2014, Surfachem, a 2M Group company, has provided help to the wider group and external customers with the help of a technical development laboratory.
Technical Development Laboratory
From starting in a small laboratory space at the 3M Buckley Innovation Centre (BIC) within the University of Huddersfield in 2014, Surfachem has since, invested in their technical capabilities to meet customer needs across a range of industries.
Surfachem’s laboratory continues to play a key part within the Group – it was critical to 2M at the start of the pandemic, where the team formulated and bottled hand sanitiser for donation to key institutions.
Expansion
Last week was a key milestone within Surfachem’s growth journey. Surfachem are excited to share its brand-new, larger, formulation laboratory within the 3M Buckley Innovation Centre in Huddersfield. This larger facility will allow its team of experts to conduct extensive research and development, take on more projects, and support customers, both existing and new.
On 23rd September, Surfachem held an official opening event, where 2M CEO and Chairman, Mottie Kessler welcomed guests to not only view the new laboratory, but to also engage with formulation demonstrations within Personal Care and Home Care.
