Clean Water & Sanitation

2M Water Treatment, a 2M group company, offers an extensive range of speciality ingredients for making drinking water safe and to the municipal water treatment including oxygen and acid scavengers, corrosion inhibitors, foam control agents and biocides.

Climate Action

We collect and report on Scope 1, 2 & 3 Greenhouse Gas emissions across all of our sites and aim to collect as much information as possible from our suppliers and contractors.

Our aim is to make significant improvements on energy usage and Greenhouse Gas emissions year-on-year, with the goal of reducing Scope 1 & 2 emissions across all operational sites by 2030.

Decent Work & Economic Growth

We have over 403 employees across the 2M Group of Companies. Our teams of experts are located all over the world, including Benelux, Brazil, China, France, Germany, Italy, Nordics, Poland, South Africa, Spain, UK & Ireland and USA.

  • Active Teams – In partnership with Active Teams, 2M supports its employees towards a target of 150 minutes or more of moderate activity per week.
  • Spill Spill is our third-party provider of mental health support for our team, allowing all colleagues to access private and confidential therapy by a range of different methods.

Quality Education (STEM)

The 2M Group of Companies has a long-term commitment to Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) education. Our aim is to promote the awareness of STEM and give young people a thorough understanding of what it is like to work within a STEM industry, and the endless opportunities within it.

Our commitments include:

  • Surfachem sponsoring and attending the Bradford Science Festival, an event offering science-themed content, activities, and demonstrations.
  • Establishing a STEM hub at 2M House, enabling live demonstrations and interactive learning with people of all ages.
  • Partnering with the Centre for Industry Education Collaboration (CIEC) to promote STEM throughout primary schools by training our staff to deliver virtual science experiments.

Our ‘2M Academy’ is an umbrella for employee development within the Group. Its aim is to develop the talents and expertise of our team.

Certifications & Accreditations


We use EcoVadis (the current benchmark in industry sustainability ratings) as an assessment tool for our sustainability needs. This indicates how well we have integrated CSR and sustainability practices into our business and Integrated Management System (IMS).

We have received a Silver EcoVadis rating, placing us in the top 25% of companies for our sustainability and CSR efforts.

Responsible Care

The 2M Group of Companies are committed to Responsible Care® – the chemical industry’s commitment to continual improvement in health, safety, security and environmental performance.

We strive for year-on-year improvement on our annual indices of performance in order to reduce reportable injuries, environmental incidents, dangerous occurrences, enforcement actions and to reduce waste and environmental impact.


Founded in 2004, the not-for-profit organisation RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) has united more than 4,000 stakeholders worldwide, from producers to finished consumer goods on the shelves.

RSPO members are committed to producing, sourcing and using certified, sustainable palm oil.
