The 2M Group of Companies has a long-term commitment to Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) education. Each year, we are proud to help over 550 young people to have access to a career in STEM.
Our Commitment
Over the last few years, we are proud to have:
Offered apprenticeships / Year in Industry placements to students from a range of disciplines
Sponsored and attended the Bradford Science Festival, a free-to-attend event offering science-themed content, activities, and demonstrations.
Established a STEM hub at 2M House, enabling live demonstrations and interactive learning
Before the first lockdown over a year ago, we wanted to bring children into our sites, to learn about STEM. Since then, we have had to think of new ways to educate and engage children.
Primary School Initiative
The 2M Group of Companies has recently partnered with the Centre for Industry Education Collaboration (CIEC) to promote STEM throughout primary schools.
Together, we strive to improve the quality of science education, enthuse school children and their teachers about science and enable schools and industry to work as one.
Our Involvement | STEM Ambassadors
With the support of CIEC, we are delighted to have partnered with 20 schools across the UK. We have despatched science kits to these schools to enable teachers to host enticing experiments and demonstrations, both virtually and in the classroom. Each kit will support the education of up to 30 children per class.
Within the 2M Group, we currently have 23 members of our team involved in this latest STEM initiative. All our STEM ambassadors have received training from the CIEC and are working towards delivering virtual lessons in collaboration with Science teachers. With virtual lessons set to take place at the start of the Summer term, we look forward to promoting STEM education and sharing the opportunities that the Chemical industry has to offer.
