Dr Richard Smith, 2M Board Member, Group COO and Managing Director of the Surfachem Group, has been named by the Insitute of Directors (IoD) as one of the business leaders shortlisted for its 2019 Regional Director of the Year Awards.
Richard, who has been Managing Director of Surfachem since 2012, has been nominated for the Large Business Award.
Richard has led Surfachem’s considerable growth and is active in many organisations across Yorkshire, which support and strengthen the region. He has led initiatives including flexible working and Leadership Development.
The finalists were drawn from across Yorkshire and the North East and represent the full spectrum of business and industry, from young entrepreneurs to experienced public and private sector leaders.
The winners will be announced at the IoD’s regional awards dinner in July and will go on to represent their region at UK Director of the Year finals.
