From 21st July, the 2M Group of Companies proudly hosted the Molecule2Market™ work experience programme at 2M House. This week-long initiative reflects one of 2M’s core values: enabling young people to access careers in our industry—regardless of their background or prior experience.
Dr. Maggie Kessler OBE, co-owner of 2M, remarked:
“Children are our future, and nurturing the next generation of talent in our industry is a responsibility we all share. I loved having our extended 2M Family with us this week.”
A Week of Hands-On Discovery
The programme was packed with engaging, practical, and fun activities designed for young people aged 15 to 19. The goal was to give students real-world exposure to science, business, and innovation.
Throughout the week, participants took part in:
Conducting live science experiments
Learning about marketing and sustainable chemistry
Exploring logistics and supply chain operations
Gaining insights into finance, health & safety, and cyber security
Understanding how companies like 2M champion sustainability across the industry
Students also had the opportunity to spend time with professionals from different departments, hearing about their roles, asking questions, and exploring the wide variety of career paths available in science and business.
The Final Challenge
To conclude the experience, students formed teams and tackled a “Dragons’ Den”-style challenge. They created, branded, and pitched a new product idea to a panel of judges. This task tested their creativity, collaboration, and presentation skills—bringing together all they had learned throughout the week.
A Heartfelt Thank You
We extend our sincere thanks to Amy McLoughlin and all the staff whose commitment made this programme such a success. Special thanks to our incredible STEM Ambassadors, who generously dedicated their time, knowledge, and experience to inspire and support the students throughout the week.
Molecule 2Market™ is more than just a work experience programme—it’s part of 2M’s commitment to making careers in science accessible and inspiring for the next generation.
